Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (“we” or “PSECU”) is offering you the opportunity to refer friends via a Referral Program (“Program”) offered on the website located at refer.psecu.com.
  1. Binding Agreement. By using the Site or participating in the Program, you are bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) and indicate your agreement to them. All decisions of PSECU regarding this Program are final and binding.
  2. Privacy and Use if Data. Any personally identifiable information collected during participation in this Program will be used by PSECU, their affiliates, agents and marketers in accordance with PSECU’s privacy policy, located at psecu.com/privacy/. By participating in the Program and providing your e-mail address, participants hereby agree to PSECU's collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted PSECU's Privacy Policy. Furthermore, the personal information collected, processed, and used as part of the Program will be used in accordance with PSECU’s Privacy Notice(s) and Internet Privacy Policy at psecu.com/privacy and Extole’s Privacy Policy at extole.com/privacy-policy/.
  3. How the Program Works. Current PSECU Members (“Referrers”) and Referred New Members (“Friends”) must be a legal resident of the United States of America and 18 years of age or older at the time the PSECU account is opened to take advantage of this Membership Referral Bonus Offer. Referrers must visit the Site and follow the on-screen instructions to refer friends, family members, or colleagues. Referrers must be PSECU members in good standing, as defined in the PSECU Bylaws found at psecu.com/disclosures. Referrers and Friends who open accounts and loans by fraudulent, suspicious, or illegal means, including but not limited to providing PSECU with fraudulent or fabricated information, are not eligible to participate. Joint owners are not eligible to be Referrers for this Program. Referrers may receive the referral bonus for a maximum of 10 friends, family members, or colleagues per each calendar year. Upon visiting the Site and following on-screen instructions, Referrers will be provided with a unique referral link (“Personal Link”) that allows Referrer to refer Friends for PSECU membership. Referrers may also generate an email from the Site to be sent to Friends. Only individuals who meet PSECU’s membership requirements are eligible to be referred as Friends under this Program. A valid referral requires that a Friend must:
    • Meet PSECU’s membership requirements,
    • Complete the PSECU membership application by accessing it through the Referrer’s Personal Link and follow the on-screen instructions, and
    • Be approved for PSECU membership
  4. Restrictions. Referrers cannot refer themselves or create multiple, fictitious, or fake accounts with PSECU or participate in the Program as Friends. PSECU may restrict access and participation of Referrers or Friends in the Program, without notice, if at any time PSECU suspects abuse of the Program or accounts and/or loans were opened by fraudulent, suspicious, or illegal means, including but not limited to providing PSECU with fraudulent or fabricated information. No participant may use the Program to violate any law, infringe or violate the rights of any third party, or otherwise act in a manner that is deemed harassing, harmful, illegal, hateful, obscene, or outside the spirit and intent of the Program. In addition, you may not (i) tamper with the Program, (ii) act in an unfair or disruptive manner, or (iii) use any system, bot, or other device or artifice to participate or receive any benefit in the Program. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROGRAM MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, PSECU RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY FEES) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

Employees, agents and officials of PSECU’s Business Development, University Development, and Campus Ambassadors teams are not eligible for this promotion.

  5. Rewards. Referrers will receive a Membership Referral Bonus for a valid referral. By making a valid referral, Referrer will receive $50 per referred Friend up to 10 referred Friends per calendar year. Payment of the bonus will be deposited into the Referrer’s Regular share within 60 days of the referred Friend being approved for PSECU membership. PSECU may delay a reward for the purposes of investigation. PSECU may also refuse to verify and process any transaction for any reason. PSECU may adjust the deposited bonus or remove the deposited bonus at any time if PSECU suspects accounts and/or loans were opened by fraudulent, suspicious, or illegal means, including but not limited to providing PSECU with fraudulent or fabricated information.
  6. Taxes. Referrer is solely responsible for payment of applicable taxes on the annual total bonus amount (valued at $50 - $500). If you have any questions, please seek the advice of a qualified tax professional.

To be clear, the Released Parties shall not be liable for any technical errors or malfunctions, data theft or corruption, any printing or typographical error, or any damage to any computer system resulting from participating in or accessing or downloading information in connection with the Program. The Released Parties shall not be liable to any users for failure to supply any advertised benefit, by reason of any acts of God, any action or request by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity (whether or not valid), or any other activity or action that is beyond any of the Released Parties’ control. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT POSSIBLE BY LAW, THE RELEASED PARTIES’ MAXIMUM LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROGRAM, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION (WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, BREACH OF WARRANTY, OR OTHERWISE), WILL NOT EXCEED $100.

  9. Bulk Distribution (“Spam”). Each Referrer is the actual sender of the emails and must comply with applicable law. Referrals must be created and distributed in a personal manner that is appropriate and customary for communications with friends, colleagues, and family members. By submitting any email address as part of the Program, the Referrer represents that he/she has the appropriate permission and consent. Bulk email distribution, distribution to strangers, or any other use of the services described herein in a manner that is not promoted is expressly prohibited and may be grounds for immediate termination and further legal action. PSECU has no obligation to monitor the Program or any communications; however, PSECU may choose to do so and block any email messages, remove any such content, or prohibit any use of the Program. Referrers who do not comply with the law, including anti-spam laws, are obligated to indemnify the Program Entities against any liabilities, costs and expenses it incurs as a results of such spam.
  10. Right to Cancel, Modify or Terminate. PSECU reserves the right to cancel, modify, or terminate the Program at any time for any reason without notice. PSECU reserves the right to disqualify any Referrer or Friend at any time from participation in the Program if he/she does not comply with any of these Terms.
